Emergency Management

  1. CERT Academy

    November 16, 2019, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

    The Des Moines County Emergency Management Agency, and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will be hosting a FREE CERT Academy. The dates of the class will be on Saturday November 9th and November 16th, 2019 from 8:00am to 5:00pm both days at the West Burlington Fire Department. Anyone 18 or older is eligible (exceptions may be made for individuals under 18 if accompanied by an adult). You do not need to be a resident of Des Moines County to attend. You must attend all training sessions on both days to receive your certification. After the classes you will have no obligation to join the CERT Team or any other volunteer organization. This training benefits any citizen who takes it by helping them develop a good background for emergency preparedness.
