Last day to request an absentee ballot to be mailed. A completed request form must be received in the Auditor's Office by 5:00 PM. Auditor's Office will be open from 8AM to 5PM.
Voter Pre-Registration Deadline. The Deadline to pre-register to vote in the April 2nd Special Election is 5 PM. this applies to registration in person (including registration at driver's license stations or agencies) or by mail. After today, a person may register to vote at the auditor's office and vote an absentee ballot. The process is the same as for registering t vote on election day.
Auditor's Office will be open from 8AM to 5PM.

Severe Weather Awareness Week which runs from March 25-29, 2019. This is an opportunity to highlight the importance of being aware of, and prepared for, severe weather.
For each day during Severe Weather Awareness Week, a different subject will be featured:
• Monday – Severe thunderstorms
• Tuesday – Weather warnings
• Wednesday – Tornadoes
• Thursday – Family preparedness
• Friday – Flash floods

With spring arriving, the annual Iowa state-wide tornado drill will be held on Wednesday, March 27th, 2019. A test watch will be issued at approximately 10:00 AM to start the drill, followed by a test warning around 10:15 AM. The drill will be over at 10:30 AM.
The National Weather Service will also be activating the all-hazards weather radio system and Emergency Alert System (EAS) on local radio and television stations during the drill. In Des Moines County the outdoor warning sirens will also be activated.
