Hickory Bend Recreation Area is roughly 175 acres of rolling oak-hickory timber mixed with a few open fields. Its quality hardwood timber coupled with its remote location and inaccessibility make it a great destination for hunters and wildlife viewers. It is only accessible via a half mile hike down the Flint River Trail. It is one of the county's least developed areas having no amenities or structures on site and is managed solely for natural resources and hunting opportunity.
Purchase of portions of the property was made possible by contributions from the Wildlife Habitat Stamp Grant program and Pheasants Forever chapters.
