AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING CHAPTER 641-46 OF THE IOWA ADMINISTRATIVE CODE FOR THE PURPOSE OF REGULATING TANNING FACILITIES AND DEVICES USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF TANNING HUMAN SKIN THROUGH THE APPLICATION OF ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION IN DES MOINES COUNTY. THIS INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE BUSINESSES, HOTELS, MOTELS, APARTMENTS, CONDOMINIUMS, AND HEALTH AND COUNTRY CLUBS.
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Des Moines County, Iowa, will hold public hearings on August 18th, August 25th and September 1st, 2020 at 9:15 A.M. in the Board meeting room on the 2nd Floor at the Des Moines County Courthouse, 513 N Main St., Burlington, IA. The purpose of the public hearings is for public comments regarding an ordinance adopting Chapter 641-46 of the Iowa Administrative Code regulating tanning facilities and devices. The ordinance addresses inspections, training of operators, testing cost, enforcement and penalties.
A copy of proposed Ordinance #59 is on file in the Auditor’s Office for public review or available at the County website www.dmcounty.com
Any member of the public may express their views on the proposed ordinance during the public hearings in person or by an authorized representative. Written comments may be filed with the County Auditor, PO Box 784, Burlington, IA 52601 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and must be received before the public hearing.
